Discover the multi-cultural metropolis of Davao – the Philippines’ largest city, the culinary, cultural, economic, and commercial capital of the South. We begin the day with some retail therapy because… why not? Poblacion Market is the ideal place to hunt for the perfect handicrafts, delicacies, textiles, and souvenirs from Davao and from around the region. Afterwards we drive by Davao City Hall and People’s Park on the way to Lon Wa Buddhist Temple. Prepare to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Buddhism in the largest temple on the island of Mindanao. Next we navigate to Museo Dabawenyo. Featuring galleries, tableaus, and artifacts, the museum offers a glimpse into the past of this continuously evolving city and its people. No trip to Davao is complete without having a taste of Durian, dubbed “The King of Fruits.” Not Durian season? Worry not! Apo ni Lola Durian Delicacies offers Durian treats all year round and is home to everything Durian from Durian pastries, Durian candies, Durian ice cream, and so much more. We also drop by Davao Crocodile Park, home to the Philippine's largest Crocodile in captive – Pangil, a robust 18-feet Saltwater crocodile. Aside from Crocodiles, the Park is also home to more than 50 different animals. Watch out for the Animal Got Talent Show and decide afterwards if the Orangutan, Python, Siberian Tiger, Parrot, or the Crocodile is the most talented. Afterwards we navigate to Jack's Ridge, once the location of the headquarters of the retreating Japanese forces towards the end of World War II. Here we can enjoy a commanding view of Davao City and Davao Gulf. We check out the nearby Shrine of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague then make our way back downtown. Explore. Relax. Repeat! Make that your mantra when visiting Davao.
