Chocolate Hills, Bohol
The Chocolate Hills are over a thousand haycock-shaped hills that, in the summer when the vegetation dies off, take on a golden-brown hue, giving them their name.
Philippine tarsier, Bohol
Nocturnal by nature, Tarsiers measure around 4-5 inches with large eyes and tails longer than their bodies.
Loboc Loay River Cruise, Bohol
Enjoy a delightful dining experience aboard the Loboc Loay River Cruise where lunch is served while the floating restaurant traverses the length of the jade green colored Loboc River.

PRIVATE TOUR WITH SHARED RIVER CRUISE
Tour code: OPTTAGCTR
Duration: 7-8 hours
Pick up: 8 AM

Highlights: Baclayon Church, Tarsier encounter, Python encounter, Loboc Loay River Cruise with buffet lunch, Sipatan Twin Hanging Bridge, Man-Made Mahogany Forest, Butterflies Conservation Center, Chocolate Hills

Get ready to explore the breathtaking countryside of Bohol. Our first stop: Baclayon Church. Originally built out of coral stones and cemented using the white of over millions of eggs, this church which is located facing the sea holds religious relics dating back to the early 16th century. Baclayon Church was declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines in 2010. Afterwards, prepare to meet the unofficial mascot of Philippine tourism that is the Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta), an endangered animal endemic to Bohol. The Tarsier species is believed to be about 45 million years old. They measure around 4-5 inches with large eyes and tails longer than their bodies. Tarsiers are nocturnal and spend their days sleeping on tree branches. This tour also allows you to come face to face with a large python. Conquer your fear with this thrilling wildlife encounter. Next, enjoy a delightful dining experience aboard the Loboc Loay River Cruise where lunch is served while the floating restaurant traverses the length of the jade green colored Loboc River, passing through lush foliage and towering trees. Watch out for the engaging cultural show performed by the local community. Afterwards we head to Sipatan Twin Hanging Bridge, a pair of suspension bridges made of bamboo, rattan, and steel cables hanging 25 meters above Sipatan River. We pass by the Man-Made Mahogany Forest, a two-kilometer stretch of dense forest seemingly guarding the road on both sides. The trees were planted by local volunteers in the middle of the last century in an effort to reverse the destruction caused by kaingin, a form of slash and burn agriculture that decimated the original forest. Then get ready to be surrounded by colorful fluttering wings at the Butterflies Conservation Center. More than just a butterfly garden, the Center aims to conserve and raise the butterfly population on the island. We also visit the famous Chocolate Hills — over a thousand haycock-shaped hills that turn into color brown during summer. A true wonder of nature and a sight to behold! Rolling tour of the Blood Compact Site, Clarin Ancestral House, Loay Backyard Industries producing handmade bolos, metalcrafts, and nipa leaves roof panels. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

IMPORTANT: As Tarsiers are usually resting during daytime, please observe silence at the Tarsier Conservation Area. Do not feed the animals and do not use flash photography. Let’s respect animals and their natural habitat whenever we do wildlife interactions.

Discover the diverse natural and historical treasures found on the east coast of Bohol on this day tour that features amazing landscapes, underwater delights, and more. We depart from the hotel in the morning and traverse scenic countryside roads on the way to the town of Candijay. Our first stop… the majestic Can-umantad Falls, where we enjoy swimming in the waters of the tallest waterfall on the island. Afterwards we proceed to Cadapdapan Rice Terraces, one of the most captivating places in this rice-producing town. The Terraces cover a few hectares of the mountain slopes and are irrigated by the waters of Cadapdapan River, the same river system that flows down to Can-umantad Falls. We then proceed to Quinale Beach where lunch will be served. Afterwards we travel by boat to the uninhabited Lamanoc Island. Since pre-colonial times, this area has been revered as a sacred place where local priests and medicine men, called baylan or tambalan, made their offerings to nature spirits or diwata who were believed to reside here. Most of the caves here served as burial places containing dozens of lungon or wooden boat coffins, so called because they were carved from a dugout log, similar to the way boats were made. The wooden coffins were used for primary burials, alongside there are clay jars which were used for secondary and multiple burials. Found in another rock shelter are prehistoric abstract paintings created by smearing hematite (red iron oxide) mineral pigment by hand on the limestone walls, an ancient practice believed to venerate the dead. Another curiosity is a giant clam shell embedded in one of the rocks, proving that the rocks were once submerged in water. We spend the remaining time snorkeling in the lush coral garden and giant clams sanctuary. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

Bohol is a haven to more than 11 species of dolphins and whales, including the Bottlenose dolphin, Risso’s dolphin, Bryde's whale, and Sperm whale. The best time to see these amazing creatures is in the morning, hours just after sunrise. A highly skilled spotter will be joining this tour to increase the chance of spotting the animals. Since dolphins are naturally curious, they enjoy chasing the boats. Pods of dolphins may play around the boat, leaping out of the water, sometimes for up to an hour. Enjoy a giddying natural high with this one of a kind encounter. Afterwards, we proceed to Balicasag Island, a tiny island ringed by a reef that drops away to impressive submarine cliffs as deep as 50 meters. After lunch, enjoy swimming and snorkeling amidst the lush coral gardens while spotting marine animals like Trevally, Barracuda, Wrasse, and the adorable Pawikan (Sea turtle).
