Nature. Adventure. Culture. This trip is a gold mine of priceless experiences.
We begin in the Island of the Gods, Bali, for an almost spiritual crusade to commune with nature and the arts. Feast your eyes on glorious temples. Savor authentic local flavors. Then it’s onto Phuket where we navigate Phi Phi Islands and the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Maya Bay, no less than the filming location of the movie “The Beach” which starred Leonardo DiCaprio. Then, get this, step up for an extraordinary opportunity to feed and bathe with massive Elephants. (Yes siree!)
We voyage to the eclectic city of Hanoi and conquer the impressive Halong Bay with an overnight cruise to explore massive caves and towering islands. Afterwards, you’ll be whisked away to the Philippines to swim with Whale sharks in Cebu and go canyoneering in a waterfall affectionately named “Gatorade Factory” after its bright blue waters. Then we venture to Siargao, one of Time Magazine’s World's 100 Greatest Places of 2021, where you’ll explore curious sites like Magpupungko Rock Pools, Sugba Lagoon, and discover islands that are big, small, hidden, and naked.
Nature. Adventure. Culture. It’s all here. It’s all good!

DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE BALI
Selamat datang di Pulau Dewata! Welcome to Bali, the predominantly Hindu island of the Indonesian archipelago. Bali is an island of captivating beauty – immerse in outdoor adventures, take in all the nature, engross in the fascinating culture, rejuvenate your body, savor authentic flavors, and feed your soul through the arts. Truly, Bali has so much to offer. Did you know Bali is home to a unique celebration called Nyepi or the Balinese Day of Silence where the whole island shuts down and falls into complete silence for an entire day? (Probably the closest thing to torture for our chatty cathy friends!) Enjoy dinner at The Cafe Lotus Ubud (Bale Lesehan style!) then transfer to your hotel located deep within Bali's cultural and artistic heart – Ubud. Just look around and you will feel the enchantment. You’re in Bali, the Island of the Gods, after all!
DAY 2 (BL) UBUD, TAMPAKSIRING & ULUWATU TOUR
Fall off the bed. It’s time to hit the road for a day of epic discoveries. We kick-ART with a visit to Ubud Art Market for a peek into the alluring world of Balinese arts. Here, there’s gold and silver works, paintings, woodcarvings and stone carvings, and many more. You’ll be surrounded with an abundance of riveting treasures it’s impossible not to be tempted to bring home a piece of Bali with you. Do you know what Balinese artists like to draw before going to bed? The curtains. (*wink*) Afterwards we set off to Tirta Empul. Built in the 10th-century during the Warmadewa dynasty, Tirta Empul is a sacred Hindu water temple. The water gushing out through the waterspouts is used for ritual purification and is believed by many to have magical powers. So go ahead! Wrap that sarong around your waist and take a dip. Water you waiting for? For lunch, sink your teeth into the tastiest Crispy Duck at Semar Kuning Resto. Enak banget! In the afternoon, we sashay to Uluwatu Temple. Dedicated to the Supreme God Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, Uluwatu Temple is renowned for its magnificent location – perched on top of a steep cliff 70 meters (230 feet) above the Indian Ocean. When the sun is about to set, Uluwatu Temple comes to life with the Kecak Fire Dance – a mesmerizing concoction of a performance featuring hypnotic chants (Kecak!), dazzling flames, and mesmerizing choreography which portrays Monkey God Hanuman helping Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. It’s lit, literally!
DAY 3 (BL) BEDUGUL TOUR
Rise and grind! It’s your last full day in Bali and we’re gonna make it count! After breakfast, we scoot off to Taman Ayun Temple. Also known as Mengwi Royal Temple, this 17th century creation was built as a family temple for the Mengwi Empire and was only accessible by the royals. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features an eye-catching row of pagodas with thatched roof up to 11 stories tall. (Think traditional Balinese skyscrapers!) Next, we skid to Bali Botanical Garden – a sprawling garden that showcases Bali’s biggest display of wild Orchids, one of the world’s largest Begonia collection, a rainforest trail, enchanting Fern garden, and Bamboo collection. Watch out for the carnivorous plants! We venture into the highland resort neighborhood of Bedugul for a glimpse of one of the most iconic views in all of Bali – Ulun Danu Beratan Temple seemingly floating on water, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains caressed by clouds. Take in the glorious view and make a mind imprint. It’s heaven on earth! Afterwards, we swing by Candikuning Fruit Market to check out a wide variety of locally harvested fruits and vegetables. (Have you ever tried eating a Starfruit? This is your chance!) Finally, glam up for a photo shoot worthy of an Instagram upload at Handara Gate. Strolling along the statuesque Handara Gate with its distinctive Balinese architecture surrounded by a lush green scenery is like entering the gate to para-para-paradise! (Got you singing there, ei?)
DAY 4 (BD) BALI-PHUKET BY FLIGHT
Bad news: It’s your last day in Indonesia. Good news: You’re heading to another country. Sawasdee! Welcome to Phuket, Thailand’s largest island nestled by the crystalline waters of the Andaman Sea. The country’s top beach destination and the wealthiest province of Thailand, Phuket lures millions of tourists seeking its gorgeous beaches, stunning view points, magnificent temples, sumptuous cuisine, and vibrant nightlife scene. After dinner, you’re free to explore and make your mark in such an alluring destination. Carpe this diem!
DAY 5 (BL) PHI PHI ISLAND HOPPING
Ready to have an awesome day out at sea? Kickstart your day with a filling breakfast then we navigate to AA Marina where we hop on a speedboat to explore Phi Phi Islands. Our first stop: the enchanting Phi Phi Lae Island, home to the famous Maya Bay – a beautiful bay sheltered by towering cliffs. Did you know that Maya Bay was the filming location of the movie “The Beach” which starred Leonardo DiCaprio? Haven’t seen it? We think you should. (Check Netflix!) Afterwards, we go snorkeling at Loh Samah Bay. Swim in the divine waters of Pi Leh Cove. Admire the striking Viking Cave. Next we make our way to Phi Phi Don Island, the largest and only inhabited island of the bunch, for a yummy buffet lunch then meet the wild but friendly Macaques at Monkey Beach. Want more? We check out Khai Nai Island for a last swim before heading back. Good times!
DAY 6 (BL) GREEN ELEPHANT SANCTUARY PARK TOUR
Down your coffee and load up on Pad Thai. Today’s massive task promises an unforgettable journey to the world of Asian Elephants. Fun fact: The national animal of Thailand – the Elephant – consumes up to 200 kilograms of food a day. (That’s the weight of three adult human!) Pluck up for a visit to the Green Elephant Sanctuary Park – an ethical haven providing a home for rescued Elephants, allowing intimate interactions with them without rides or shows. Learn about the conservation efforts and experience Elephants the purest way, in a natural environment where they are free. Enjoy feeding the Elephants with fruits. Join in a mudbath then wash off the mud at the XXL Elephant Shower. Afterwards, be rewarded with a fabulous Thai buffet lunch. We guarantee this is one experience that’ll be hard to forget.
The tour and transfers on this day are non-private and will be shared with other guests of Green Elephant Sanctuary Park.
DAY 7 (BD) PHUKET-HANOI BY FLIGHT
Grab your passport. It’s time for country number three. Xin chào! Welcome to Hanoi! Founded over 1,010 years ago (You read it right!), Vietnam's capital city is rich in history, with the streets of its rambling Old Quarter dating back to the 14th century. Hanoi is known for its cultural heritage, water puppetry, bustling street life, and French colonial architecture. It’s also famous for its culinary delights with a wide array of delicious street food. Hanoi means “The City Within the River” as it is situated on the banks of the Red River in northern Vietnam. Did you know that tall but very narrow buildings dominate the low-rise skyline of Hanoi? Known as “nhà ống” in Vietnamese which translates to “tube house,” the buildings were kept narrow (Some as narrow as two meters or 6.5 feet wide and up to 12 floors tall) to circumvent the steep property tax introduced in the 19th century by the French which is based on the width of the building. After dinner, you’re free to enjoy your first night in Hanoi and soak up the magnetic local culture. One ice-cold Bia Hà Nội please!
DAY 8 (BLD) HALONG BAY
Sling your luggage into the van. It’s time for a road trip to Halong. We make a brief stop at Dong Trieu, a village with over 200 years of history in making handmade ceramic products, then get ready to conquer Halong Bay. The spectacular seascapes at Halong Bay offer views to stun the most jaded travelers. This UNESCO World Heritage Site with lush emerald and turquoise waters harbor over 1,600 mostly uninhabited – and thereby undisturbed – islands and islets. In Vietnamese, Ha Long means “descending dragon.” Dragons play a prominent role in Vietnamese culture, and legend has it that dragons descended from heaven to defend the Vietnamese people from invaders, spraying fire and emeralds or jade. The jewels eventually formed towering limestone formations and evolved into the backdrop of green islands, cliffs, and water enjoyed by visitors today. After an exquisite lunch of Vietnamese fusion cuisine, we check out Sung Sot Cave (Also called Surprise Cave), the largest and most majestic limestone cave in Halong Bay. Then we navigate to Titop Island. Wallow around at Titop Beach or climb 450 steps to Titop Peak for impressive views at 110 meters (360 feet) high. Afterwards, we return to the ship and enjoy a cooking class. After dinner, join the night fishing activity and be rewarded with the freshest catch. FIN-tastic!
The tours and activities for Halong Bay are non-private and will be shared with other guests of Syrena Cruises.
DAY 9 (BL) HALONG BAY
Wakey wakey! It’s time for an early morning grind with some Tai chi. Stretch them muscles and feel your best! After breakfast, we make way for one final stop before the cruise ends. Hop on a wooden boat and explore Luon Cave, a hidden gem with a narrow entrance and spacious interior lined by ragged cliffs and dotted with ancient trees. You’re in for a treat! Afterwards we cruise back to Halong Wharf (Sigh!) while munching on brunch then back to Hanoi by van. After hotel check in, you’re free to head out to sample the delectable street food scene. Make sure to try Bun Cha, Northern Vietnam's beloved pork and noodle dish. Known as “The Dish President Obama Chose,” Bun Cha rose to fame when Barack Obama and Anthony Bourdain chowed down on this dish in 2015 while filming a segment for Bourdain’s popular television series “Parts Unknown.” Ask around for Bun Cha Obama.
DAY 10 (BL) HANOI CITY TOUR
Finish that Banh Mi and guzzle your Ca Phe Sua Da. Today we explore the remarkable city of Hanoi. We begin with a visit to Ba Dinh Square, a massive plaza where President Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. Located in the center of Ba Dinh Square is Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a monumental marble edifice which serves as the final resting place of President Ho Chi Minh. We check out the Presidential Palace, the official residence of the President of Vietnam, as well as Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, a well-preserved, modest stilt house also located at the palace grounds. Next, we head to an extraordinary structure: One Pillar Pagoda (Dien Huu Pagoda) was built on a single pillar in the middle of a lotus pond. It may not seem like the smartest design but, mind you, it stood the test of time (Standing on one pillar since the year 1049!) Afterwards we bounce to the Temple of Literature, this temple dedicated to Chinese philosopher Confucius. Built in 1070, the complex was also the site of Vietnam’s first university. After lunch, we continue to Tran Quoc Pagoda – Hanoi’s oldest pagoda (1,500 years and counting!) situated on the southeastern shore of West Lake. We stop by Hanoi Opera House then pay respects to the Statue of King Ly Thai To – the first ruler of Vietnam’s Ly Dynasty who in the year 1010 chose Hanoi as the site for his capital. We stroll along the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake then swing by Hanoi Cathedral – a towering church which strangely also resembles a nhà ống. And just when your feet are about to give up, we continue exploring Hanoi on a Xich Lo – a modified three-wheeled bicycle, with the driver perched behind. You WHEEL love it!
DAY 11 (BD) HANOI-CEBU BY FLIGHT
Wave goodbye to Vietnam and say hello to the Philippines. Mabuhay! Welcome to Cebu, the "Queen City of the South" and home to amazing journeys and delectable food. Did you know that the Philippines was claimed in the name of Spain in 1521 by Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer sailing for Spain, who named the islands after King Philip II of Spain? Philip = Philippines! It’s here in Cebu where the first permanent Spanish settlement was established in 1565. For dinner, get ready to salivate over Cebu’s most celebrated delicacy: Lechon – one whole pig soaked and stuffed with a mix of herbs and spices, skewered on a bamboo pole, then slow roasted over hot charcoal. It’s so good people often have to stand in line for it. What's more, American chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain (Pretty obvious that we love this fella!) named Lechon Cebu as the “Best pig ever.” Now who are we to argue with him? Skip the calorie count because tonight we’re bingeing on Lechon Cebu!
DAY 12 (BL) CEBU HIGHLAND VISTA TOUR
Buckle up! Today we hit the highlands to see some of the most breathtaking views in the area. Get lost in a garden of a thousand blooms at Sirao Flower Garden. Discover the story of undying love behind Temple of Leah. Explore the fortress-like viewing deck at Tops Lookout. For lunch, we pop into La Parisienne SKY, a mountain-top winery and restaurant serving delicious chows and gorgeous views. Bon appétit!
DAY 13 (BL) CEBU-OSLOB-BADIAN-CEBU BY VAN
Today, we need to wake up bright and early but you’ll have plenty of nap time as we roll into Oslob. Ready for a mind-blowing experience? Take the plunge and swim with the world’s largest fishes. Whale sharks can grow up to 12 meters (40 feet) long and weigh an average of 20 tons. Though carnivorous, you don’t need to worry because they don’t pose any threat to humans. (Their diet consists mainly of smalls shrimps and plankton.) Prepare to be wowed (And feel really small!) with this unique wildlife interaction that will leave memories to last a lifetime. Afterwards, unleash the fearless in you with an adrenaline-pumping canyoneering tour to Kawasan Falls. Together with our highly skilled guide, trek, climb, slide, jump off steep canyons into refreshing water pools – all the way to the base of Kawasan Falls. After lunch, play and bathe in the enticing pool surrounding the waterfall. Affectionately nicknamed the “Gatorade Factory,” this incredible waterfall is known for its bright blue water. Swimming in a natural pool of blue Gatorade? Now that’s something you don’t get to do every day! (No drinking please!)
DAY 14 (BD) CEBU-SIARGAO BY FLIGHT
Zip your suitcase. Today we’re heading to the Philippines’ surfing capital – Siargao. After an easy breezy flight, we bounce to your hotel then head to Cloud 9, the island’s most popular surfing spot. In case you missed it, Cloud 9 was ranked 8th in CNNGo's World's Top 50 Best Surf Spots. Care for a surf? Or go swimming or just relax while enjoying a fresh fruit smoothie. Bottoms up! Come dinnertime, expect a spread of drool-worthy seafood so good, you’ll probably overeat. Afterwards, we hit the mangroves of Secret Beach with a boat cruise while watching glittering Fireflies and bioluminescent Plankton. It's the northern lights of the sea!
DAY 15 (BL) SUGBA LAGOON + SIARGAO LAND TOUR
Swimsuit up! Today we’re going on a land tour that also comes with a leisurely boat ride to Sugba Lagoon. We leave General Luna for a brief road trip to Del Carmen then hop on a boat navigating stunning seascapes of towering mountains and expansive mangrove forests (The largest in the Philippines with over 48.71 square kilometers or 4,871 hectares!) Entering Sugba Lagoon is an experience in itself as the boat makes its way through narrow a passage revealing a cabana right smack in the middle of the lagoon surrounded by epic mountains. Here at Sugba Lagoon, there’s paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, rafting, the Crystal kayak, or perhaps unleash your fearless side, conquer the diving board, and dive into the inviting lagoon. Afterwards we make our way back to Siargao and navigate to Magpupungko Rock Pools, home to natural rock pools that only come into view at a certain time of the day – during low tide. When the tide recedes, a crystal clear rock pool emerges. Go ahead and jump in! We also visit Coconut Mountain View, an overlooking viewpoint that allows you to see spectacular landscapes adorned with countless coconut trees. It's definitely one of the most Instagramable spots on the island. Afterwards, we head to Maasin River which has become a crowd favorite after Instagram photos of the place went viral. Make sure to check out the famous crooked coconut tree and try the rope swing. Banzai! Then we venture deeper into Maasin River by paddle boat and make our way to Secret Lagoon – a charming natural water pool with crystal clear water. Definitely a secret you would want to discover!
DAY 16 (BL) SIARGAO ISLAND HOPPING
Dig into breakfast then prepare to go on an island hopping adventure to visit three of Siargao’s most famous islands and more. Go snorkeling amidst colorful marine life at the Fish Sanctuary. Discover Naked Island – a sandbar that, as its name suggests, is without any trees or shade. Afterwards, we head to Daku Island for more swimming and snorkeling. Daku Island is also the perfect setting to satisfy your taste buds with the iconic Siargao Boodle Fight – a delightful beachfront barbecue lunch featuring freshly caught seafood and more. A treat for your eyes and most definitely your tummy! Afterwards, we head to the tiny but mighty Guyam Island where you can relax in a cottage, in a hammock, under a tree, or perhaps explore the surrounding dramatic rock formations. Finally, enjoy your last beach hurrah swimming at Secret Island before the tide rises. Fun times guaranteed!
DAY 17 (B) SIARGAO-DEPARTURE
Down your coconut juice and grab your suitcase that’s now overweight with precious mementos. We bid farewell after breakfast. What an adventure it’s been! We wouldn’t blame you though if you rebook your ticket and decide to extend. Just let us know and we’ll make arrangements.
