DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE MANILA
Mabuhay! Welcome to Manila, the Philippines’ hyperactive capital that’s home to a man-made beach, the world’s oldest Chinatown, and shopping malls as huge as cities. Check into the hotel then prepare to stimulate your senses with a tour that will reveal the charms of the Philippines’ capital city. We visit Rizal Park, a massive plaza named after the greatest Filipino hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Then we pop into the walled city of Intramuros and explore historical gems like Manila Cathedral, Plaza Roma, San Agustin Church, and Plaza San Luis. For your welcome dinner, get ready for a spread of mouth-watering Filipino specialties and an engaging performance by The Singing Cooks & Waiters. (Filipinos love to perform and there’s no shortage of talents here. In fact, Canadian musician and record producer David Foster called the Philippines “The land of singing champions” after collaborating with countless Filipino singers.) Enjoy your first night in the country and soak up the magnetic local culture.
DAY 2 (BD) MANILA-CORON BY FLIGHT
Wave goodbye to Manila and say hello to Coron. After a little over an hour flight, it’s time for your first Palawan experience… A soothing dip at Maquinit Hot Spring. Relaxation goals unlocked! Up for a high CRAB meal? For dinner, dig into the tastiest steamed crabs in town. Absolutely CLAW-some!
DAY 3 (BL) CORON ISLAND HOPPING
Make sure to fill up on your hearty breakfast because today we will hit the water to visit islands, lagoons, beaches, and two out of eight lakes on Coron that are open to the public. Kayangan Lake and Barracuda Lake are sacred cultural sites for the indigenous Tagbanua people, one of the oldest tribes in the Philippines. Swim and free dive into these lakes and make sure to take photos of the gorgeous sceneries. Explore the dreamlike Twin Lagoon and experience the uncanny feeling of swimming in thermocline waters (A fancy schmancy way of saying a mixture of cold deep water and warmer surface water), something that rarely happens in other bodies of water, making it a unique experience you absolutely shouldn’t miss. We also check out Skeleton Wreck, a 25-meter long Japanese supply ship that was hit by an airstrike by the US Air Force during World War II. In case you missed it, Coron is listed as one of Top 10 Best Scuba Diving Sites in the World by Forbes Traveler Magazine for the abundance of Japanese shipwrecks in the area (There’s 24 of them!) Not a scuba diver? Worry not! Skeleton Wreck is located on shallow waters so you can free dive or simply snorkel on the surface to catch a glimpse. Next, spot Nemo while snorkeling at Siete Pecados. Soak up the sun at CYC Beach. It doesn’t get any better than this.
DAY 4 (BD) CORON-EL NIDO BY FERRY
Onward! Today, we’ve got our GPS set for El Nido. Hailed as one of the most beautiful places in the world by CNN Travel and Reader’s Digest, El Nido offers spectacular views of majestic karst limestone formations emerging from the most beautiful and clearest blue waters. Story goes that it was El Nido that inspired author Alex Garland to write his novel “The Beach” when he was staying here. The novel was later made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and became a cult classic. Wouldn't you like to find out what El Nido can inspire you to do? For dinner, have a taste of the yummiest Thai food in town. Sawasdee!
DAY 5 (BL) EL NIDO ISLAND HOPPING
Ready to have another awesome day out at sea? Today’s island hopping tour takes us to the mystifying Secret Lagoon, the epic Big Lagoon, and the jaw-dropping Shimizu Island. There’s also plenty of snorkeling at Payong-Payong Beach plus you’ll get to swim in waters that shimmer in various shades of blue at Seven Commandos Beach. Make sure to check out the tree swing and the small bar for that perfect sundowner. Go get it!
DAY 6 (BL) EL NIDO ISLAND HOPPING
It’s time to hit the beach (Again!) in style. Rub on some sunscreen lotion and get ready for tons of fun under the sun. Today’s itinerary includes a visit to Tapiutan Island and the aptly named Helicopter Island. Explore the hauntingly beautiful Matinloc Shrine then forget time at Secret Beach and Hidden Beach, one of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Best Beaches in the World and the filming location of “Survivor Sweden” (Expedition Robinson). Go find the immunity idol!
DAY 7 (BD) EL NIDO-BOHOL BY FLIGHT
Down your coffee. Buy that souvenir Palawan ref magnet. And wave goodbye to El Nido. We’re heading to Bohol, home of the oddly adorable Tarsier and the mesmerizing Chocolate Hills. After hotel check in gear up for dinner at Bohol Bee Farm, the region’s top producer of honey and a haven for organic food farming. It's gonna BEE amazing!
DAY 8 (BL) BOHOL ISLAND HOPPING
Grab your snorkeling gear. We’re going back to the water for a day of exploration out at sea. Our first agenda: Look for Dolphins. Not an easy task but worry not! We’re in the company of a highly skilled spotter. Bohol is a haven to more than 11 species of dolphins and whales, including the Bottlenose dolphin, Risso’s dolphin, Bryde's whale, and Sperm whale. Dolphins are naturally curious, and they enjoy chasing the boats. Pods of dolphins may play around the boat, leaping out of the water, sometimes for up to an hour. Experience a giddying natural high with this one of a kind encounter. We also check out Pamilacan Island and Balicasag Island, an island that’s ringed by a reef that drops to impressive submarine cliffs. Then we navigate to Virgin Island, a stretch of fine white sandbar where you can just kick back and enjoy the serenity. Blissful!
DAY 9 (BD) BOHOL-CEBU BY FERRY
Hop onto the ferry. We’re gliding to Bohol’s neighbor: Cebu – the "Queen City of the South" and home to amazing journeys and sensational gustatory delights including Sutukil, Nilarang na Bakasi, Tuslob Buwa, Danggit, Masareal, Pintos, Chorizo de Cebu, dried Mangoes, Otap, Siomai sa Tisa, and Chicharon. Cebu’s most celebrated delicacy, however, is Lechon – one whole pig soaked and stuffed with a mix of herbs and spices, skewered on a bamboo pole, then slow roasted over hot charcoal. It’s so good people often have to stand in line for it. What's more, American chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain named Lechon Cebu as the “Best pig ever.” Now who are we to argue with that guy? Skip the calorie count because tonight we’re bingeing on Lechon Cebu!
DAY 10 (BL) CEBU-OSLOB-MOALBOAL-CEBU BY VAN
Today, we need to wake up bright and early but you’ll have plenty of nap time as we roll into Oslob. Ready for a mind-blowing experience? Prepare to plunge into the water to swim with the world’s largest fishes. Whale sharks can grow up to 12 meters (40 feet) long and weigh an average of 20 tons. Though carnivorous, you don’t need to worry because they don’t pose any threat to humans. (Their diet consists mainly of smalls shrimps and plankton.) Prepare to be wowed (And feel really small) with this unique wildlife interaction that will leave memories to last a lifetime. Next, we navigate to Moalboal where we hop on another boat for more underwater wonders. The most well-known attraction of Moalboal is a huge group of hundreds of tiny Sardines swimming in synch, called the Sardine Run. Nearby, Sea turtles can be spotted grazing seagrass. There’s also Pescador Island famous for its rich marine ecosystem, making it a superb diving and snorkeling spot. Swimming with Whale sharks, hundreds of Sardines, and Sea turtles all in one day… This is one for the books!
DAY 11 (BD) CEBU-SIARGAO BY FLIGHT
Zip your suitcase. Today we’re heading to the Philippines’ surfing capital – Siargao. After an easy breezy flight, we bounce to your hotel then head to Cloud 9, the island’s most popular surfing spot. In case you missed it, Cloud 9 was ranked 8th in CNNGo's World's Top 50 Best Surf Spots. Care for a surf? Or go swimming or just relax while enjoying a fresh fruit smoothie. Bottoms up! Come dinnertime, expect a spread of drool-worthy seafood so good, you’ll probably overeat. Afterwards, we hit the mangroves of Secret Beach with a boat cruise while watching glittering Fireflies and bioluminescent Plankton. It's the northern lights of the sea!
DAY 12 (BL) SIARGAO ISLAND HOPPING
Dig into breakfast then prepare to go on an island hopping adventure to visit three of Siargao’s most famous islands and more. Go snorkeling amidst colorful marine life at the Fish Sanctuary. Discover Naked Island – a sandbar that, as its name suggests, is without any trees or shade. Afterwards, we head to Daku Island for more swimming and snorkeling. Daku Island is also the perfect setting to satisfy your tastebuds with the iconic Siargao Boodle Fight – a delightful beachfront barbecue lunch featuring freshly caught seafood and more. A treat for your eyes and most definitely your tummy! Afterwards, we head to the tiny but mighty Guyam Island where you can relax in a cottage, in a hammock, under a tree, or perhaps explore the surrounding dramatic rock formations. Finally, enjoy your last beach hurrah swimming at Secret Island before the tide rises. Fun times guaranteed!
DAY 13 (BL) SUGBA LAGOON + SIARGAO LAND TOUR
Swimsuit up! Today we’re going on a land tour that also comes with a leisurely boat ride to Sugba Lagoon. We leave General Luna for a brief road trip to Del Carmen then hop on a boat navigating stunning seascapes of towering mountains and expansive mangrove forests (The largest in the Philippines with over 48.71 square kilometers or 4,871 hectares!) Entering Sugba Lagoon is an experience in itself as the boat makes its way through narrow a passage revealing a cabana right smack in the middle of the lagoon surrounded by epic mountains. Here at Sugba Lagoon, there’s paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, rafting, the Crystal kayak, or perhaps unleash your fearless side, conquer the diving board, and dive into the inviting lagoon. Afterwards we make our way back to Siargao and navigate to Magpupungko Rock Pools, home to natural rock pools that only come into view at a certain time of the day – during low tide. When the tide recedes, a crystal clear rock pool emerges. Go ahead and jump in! We also visit Coconut Mountain View, an overlooking viewpoint that allows you to see spectacular landscapes adorned with countless coconut trees. It's definitely one of the most Instagramable spots on the island. Afterwards, we head to Maasin River which has become a crowd favorite after Instagram photos of the place went viral. Make sure to check out the famous crooked coconut tree and try the rope swing. Banzai! Then we venture deeper into Maasin River by paddle boat and make our way to Secret Lagoon – a charming natural water pool with crystal clear water. Definitely a secret you would want to discover!
DAY 14 (BL) SIARGAO-BUCAS GRANDE-SIARGAO
Load up on breakfast and get ready for your greatest Siargao adventure yet. More than just the regular sightseeing, today’s activities include swimming, snorkeling, ledge jumping, diving, cave explorations, and more. Hokahey! We head to Dapa then hop on to a boat to Bucas Grande Island’s Sohoton Cove. Ready for something amazing? Prepare to be surrounded by smacks of Stingless jellyfish. Stingless jellyfish have a translucent bell measuring between 2-7 centimeters (0.8-2.8 inches) in diameter but some individuals can reach 30 centimeters (12 inches) long. Though small in size, the sight of dozens, oftentimes even hundreds of them, is truly a magical experience. We also visit Hagukan Luminous Cave. A truly peculiar site, this cave not only produces a “haguk” or snoring sound but also brings a dazzling glow that can be seen on the stalactites, the surrounding water, and on the skin of anyone who enters the cave. There’s also Magkukuob Cave as well as Tundan Cave, the most impressive and deepest cave in all of Sohoton Bay. We also check out Club Tara Resort, Tiktikan Lagoon, and Mark A Island where you can swim and relax to your heart’s content. In your free time in the evening, make sure to check out the island’s vibrant nightlife and celebrate your last night on Siargao. One ice-cold San Miguel please!
DAYS 15 (BD) SIARGAO-BORACAY BY FLIGHT
Today, we’re hopping on a flight to Boracay. “Calm, warm waters, gently sloping sand, very relaxing, possibly the most beautiful beach in Asia.” This was how Tripadvisor described the island. When we arrive, soak up the tropical views at White Beach then gobble up your dinner of the yummiest barbecue ribs and more. Don’t forget to check out the wildly entertaining fire dance show. It’s lit, literally!
DAY 16 (BL) BORACAY ISLAND HOPPING
Anchors aweigh! Today we’re going island hopping to check out the nearby islets and gorgeous beaches including Balinghai Beach and Puka Beach. Fun fact: The quiet Puka Beach is made of white sand and crushed white puka shells thus its name. Explore the two caves at Crystal Cove Island then do unlimited cliff jumping at Magic Island. Not an adrenaline junkie? Worry not! There’s the Crystal kayak… hop on and unleash your inner Naomi Campbell for a photo shoot worthy of an Instagram upload. Want more? We take to the water this time on a Paraw sailboat. Prep your peepers for an explosion of colors in the sky after sunset. Good times!
DAY 17 (B) BORACAY-DEPARTURE
And just like that, your seventeen days in paradise is over. Smile! You just ticked major entries on your bucket list. Where should we take you next?
